Project Description |
This well will be drilled to test the Traverse Lime
for the development of a reef. |
|
|
The closest known reef is less than a mile away and
which is on structural trend is called the Stoney
Lake Field and made over 7,000,000 barrels of oil
from an 800 acre reef. Our 3-D seismic defines a
reef that is 114 acres in size. |

Summary |
It is our belief that Claybanks "1" is a satellite
reef related to the bigger Stony Lake reef. This is
a prospect where you either believe the 3-D seismic
can properly image the Traverse Lime or not. |
|
Details |
We can define seismically that that there is a
separation between the Stony Lake reef and our reef.
This is critical because this proves we have not
been drained. Also, the Claybanks \"1\" is
regionally down dip from Stony Lake, therefore when
hydrocarbons migrated they would have filled this
reservoir first before spilling over and filling
Stony Lake. |
